Analytical model of a resonator for PCB-embedded power conversion

چکیده
This study proposes a comprehensive analytical model of the magnetism, electrostatics, and loss mechanisms simple economical structure with printed circuit board-embedded magnetic component (coil, high leakage transformer, or resonator) for electric power conversion in range 1 W–100 W. The predictions this are compared to finite element simulations. A good match is obtained over wide bandwidth (up at least 10 MHz). adapted predict electrical characteristics device used as monolithic series-LC tank, resonant frequency MHz range. prototype built prove applicability model, which intended design optimisation electronics converters.

This paper investigates the power bus noise and power bus impedance of printed circuit boards with four different kinds of embedded capacitance. These boards have power-ground plane pairs separated by a very thin layer of material with high dielectric permittivity. It is shown that embedded capacitance effectively reduces power bus noise over the entire frequency range evaluated (up to 5 GHz).
